Greetings everyone !
Alright, so for the second week's class which was on the 4th of March 2016, our class shifted from the computer lab that is in the faculty of education to the computer lab that is situated opposite of the faculty of education. It is the Information and Technology computer lab. We actually have a large number of students in the class which made it impossible to fit all the 45 of us in the computer lab in the education faculty. So we needed a bigger computer lab. Dr Rosseni made a great effort of looking a bigger computer lab that could fit all of us .
I was my first time going to that computer lab. I had prepared myself to leave early because I need time to search the computer lab as well as to get a parking for myself. Well I'm not so rich that I have a car for myself. It is actually my friends car who prefers to use a bike instead of a car. So its so nice of him for letting me use his car sometimes. I manage to reach early and get a parking for myself. I searched the computer lab based on the sign boards available around the DTAMS.
When I went in, I was shocked to see such a big computer lab. It was beyond my expectations. I thought it would be slightly bigger than the computer lab in the education faculty but I was wrong. It was so big and comfortable. I choose a place for me to sit. I prefer sitting in the middle where the lecturer could actually see me and I could get all the information that is given by the lecturer.
So , last week Dr. Rosseni told my class that this week's lecture will be conducted by Dr. Fariza. I am so happy to hear that because I was really comfortable being her student in the first semester when i took Computer in Education's class. It was before 9 am , Dr. Fariza was already in the class. She is very punctual. Besides Dr. Fariza, Dr Khalid also came into the class to introduce himself. He seems to be a nice person too!
Dr. Fariza started her lecture, but before that she made some things clear to us. For example , the reflection. At first we were not sure how where to do our reflection and paste it on the MOOC, the open learning website. So she told us that we are free to use any software or website to do our reflection. We can either choose to do it on the Weebly or Wordpress, as long as we are comfortable in doing it. After doing the reflection, we have to copy and paste the url link in the topic and activity section in the open learning website. I choose to do my reflection on Weebly. I find Weebly more easier and I have used it before tho. She also told us more about doing a video for our project but I am still not very clear about it. Besides that , according to Dr. Fariza, we will have to do some photography. Well , this course is really getting very interesting.
Dr. Fariza's lecture was on Instructional Technology. Based on what I understand, it means teaching or learning to help students to get new information. According to the slides projected in front of the computer lab, learning involves selection, arrangement , delivery of information and an appropriate environment.
Dr. Fariza also highlighted on the important keys in educational technology which involves design, development, utilization, management and evaluation. This are actually the domain of educational technology. She gave further information on the domains . It seems very interesting . The way Dr. Fariza delivered her lecture was very interesting for me. I enjoyed listening to her lecture.
So, that's all from me for this week. Thank you :)
