Greetings everyone !
So this week's lecture was by Dr. Fariza Khalid.
It was on the traditional media that is obviously related to the field i might join soon, that is the teaching field. During the older days, there were no technologies involved in teaching , especially the use of Computer , LCD Projectors and etc. The usage of worksheets, and blackboard or whiteboard was widely used among educators those days. This is because not every school is provided with the equipment and up to date technologies back that time. Teachers were require to come up with teaching methods and approach that would attract the students attention.Traditional methods that teachers normally use are the mahjong paper, black/white board, and pictures. I still remember during my school days, i normally get excited when my science teacher uses the overhead projector in the class using the transparent displayed. My whole class would rush to the front seat to actually see what is being displayed more clearly. Those days were among the best days of my life !
Moving on, based on Dr. Fariza's lecture, we were given the task to choose on on of the method and do a presentation on it. My group choose LCD method. We were required to present on how LCD is used and anything related to it.
Honestly, If it was me, I would still prefer using traditional method rather than using the modern methods. This is because, i feel that through the traditional method, I would be more well prepared and confident to teach. Not only that, it is easy to use and handle, compared to using the modern methods. If it happens to breakdown suddenly, I'm sure it would effect the teaching process. Based on this week's lecture, I think I am more prepared on the teaching methods I can use in doing my macroteaching especially. Thank You !
